To the boys out there who like to bond and fraternize over attractive women by objectifying them... Who reduce them to nothing more than body parts, or a way to satisfy themselves. The boys out there who talk to each other about things they want to do to women they find attractive, and shout things at women that you know will make them uncomfortable... The boys who scare women by participating in this rape culture. The boys who call themselves gentlemen but act and speak like animals. Shut up. And grow up. Women who walk down the street at night are scared of guys like me because of you. They are angry, and tired, and upset, and scared of you and all of your immature control issues. Men who hear these things but dont speak up, its time to take off your muzzle. Support a generation of gentlemen who show respect. Support and foster a society of men who are not afraid to stand up for what you believe in. Its time to end the fear. Let them know that the things they say are not ok. Otherwise, they have no reason to believe its wrong. This isnt just about a responsibility we have towards the female gender, how about the responsibility we have to our own gender? Do you want to be known as the one who sits idly by and allows these stereotypes to be created? You may think, Thats not me, and everybody knows that. But unless you actively speak and act out against it, you are allowing that culture to grow. In what way is that better than participating in it?
