To those of you (and you know who you are) who are posting, often - TopicsExpress

To those of you (and you know who you are) who are posting, often multiple times a day, thereby dominating my Facebook news feed, regarding the Israel-Hamas/Palestinian situation, I am respectfully asking that you consider stopping or at least reducing your posts on the subject. Frankly, while I am sure some of your friends and family, who are equally passionate about the subject, may appreciate your posts, I suspect the vast majority feel as I do -- that the relentless postings are annoying no matter how one may feel or ones level of interest about the subject. Frankly, I get a bit annoyed, and I suspect you Israel-posters do as well, when anybody over-posts on any topic -- even if the posts are just mundane/witty musings or family photos. Also, I question the purpose/desired impact of these Israel posts. I can understand why many, including me, occasionally post about political and social issues, where the sharing of information and viewpoints may have some chance, though probably minuscule, of persuading or enlightening FB friends, perhaps even effecting someones vote or stance on a particular issue or rallying someone to send a letter to their congressman, boycott a particular business, etc... However, the fact of the matter is that, at least to the extent you Israel posters are speaking to a primarily, if not exclusively, American audience, there is nothing you can say, share or do that is going to actually impact the course of events or the positions of the feuding parties in Israel one iota, nor will it even change the U.S. policies or practices as the U.S. has steadfastly supported Israel. So, again, I ask you Israel posters to weigh the perceived value of these ongoing posts against the feelings of your FB friends, who probably just want to look at their news feed from time to time and see a story of interest, a friends vacation photos or a post from a page they have chosen to like. Finally, though I think I am speaking for the silent majority, if, out of my 164 current FB friends, I dont get at least 40 likes to this post, I will take it down. Oh, and, while Israel posters may disagree, liking this post does not mean you are pro-Hamas, pro-Palestine, anti-Israel, anti-Semitic or a self-hating Jew.
