To those people coming onto Facebook and ranting about being embarrassed to be Scottish can I just say - Get a grip! Scotland was a wonderful country yesterday and it still is today. Its people are a pretty special breed - mostly. To say you are embarrassed by the Scots voting No is poor chat. The referendum was a marvellous feat. The Yes Campaign was run brilliantly and created a ground swell that almost rocked the world. Momentum for change is hard to get going against the status quo. However, the basis for independence was flawed and those flaws were exposed by the No Campaign. Yes was louder and more in your face, No more reserved and quieter but in the end they had the majority and that is democracy. To start saying that the older voter has let down the younger voter is patent nonsense. To suggest that the over 65s view somehow shouldnt count as much as the under 20s is just plain silly. The Electorate is just that. One person, one vote. Most votes win. So to the losers, can I just say - vent a little for a few days, but then get over yourself, accept defeat with dignity and move on. In short, grow up. To the winners, realise the effort the losing side put in, how passionately they feel about this and how much they hurt. Once they have calmed down then it is time for you to show dignity too. What has happened, has happened. Time to move on.
