To whomever built the new pocket park at the corner of St. Claude and Independence: It is lovely, it really is, and a new greenspace is AMAZING! Did anyone think, however, that maybe it wasnt the GREATEST IDEA IN THE WORLD to put a sittin and skatin area two doors down from a convenience store that sells liquor that usually has people hanging out in front of it all the time? GUESS WHAT the park is mostly being using for?? MORE hangin out and sittin and drankin and musicin. And the weird little grass slopes (that I had half-hoped would become a greenhouse, or...something, anything, really), despite their actual mysterious purpose, have already been torn apart by skateboards. Now people can grab a tall boy and hang out EVEN LONGER on the nice wooden platforms than before when they had to just stand or sit on the stoop of the building next door. THANKS.
