Today I am **** SPOT LIGHTING **** The Worland Family: Ya Know I Gotta Say It.....Lets Show Them Some Love As Only The GS Family Can! This is the Worland Familys Story As Told By Lori Rae.....Therapy-that is what food has always been to my Family. Therapy for good times and accomplishments, as well as therapy when someone is down and needs to feel better. When my Son was 4 it was discovered that he had some food allergies, so eating out was minimal (unless he was at Grandmas house). While we do make most of the things we eat from scratch, I can honestly say it is not always as healthy as can be. My Mom moved in with us about 6 years ago and was able to help with cooking when I was at work, which was a great help but eating regular meals multiple times per day didnt really happen. We mostly ate one large meal per day and snacked as needed for the rest of the day. When my husband was injured three years ago and was unable to work, our attention changed directions and we were focused on doctors appointments and therapy visits. We made meals that seemed like good therapy at the time. After leaving a stressful job that was literally making me sick and finding the most wonderful job I could ask for, weight started leaving me and I felt up to doing more things. Then 2014 came around-after dealing with the death of three family members, and my husbands fourth surgery food therapy was taking over more of our lives. Finally one day while I was getting ready for work, I heard JJ Smith on the Steve Harvey Show and I knew that we could do this. We all could take one day at a time and make it happen! I ordered the book that day and was excited to get started. I read the book the day it arrived and was ready to get started until I read that coffee would have to go. Admittedly, I prolonged starting as the idea of loosing my precious coffee was making me rethink my decision. I started noticing things after reading the book, and thought about the check list for detoxing and how many I had answered yes to. My husbands snoring was getting worse, my brain was foggy, my son (now 13) would get winded after playing for a short time, and my mom was having knee problems. So, the coffee stopped cold turkey and we took the plunge on 7/8 Together! My son had the hardest time getting his mind set around it, but as we started to see the weight drop off-each one of us found new motivation. Reading all of the Testimonies and stories on the Facebook page made it all so much easier for all of us-we would just leave the page up on our computer so anyone could read it as they walked by. Knowing that other people were on the same day with us and having some of the same struggles and seeing photos of everyones success let us know it was possible. The first trip to the grocery store was torture as I could smell the coffee isle from the parking lot so we kept the trip short and did not venture from the produce isle. Aftern10 days we collectively lost 47 pounds and 25 inches! We have moved onto the Modified Cleanse and have lost an additional 7 pounds totaling 54 pounds and 34.50 inches gone Forever in 20 days! It is not losing water weight like many diets out there and I just cant believe how fast our bodies are restoring themselves with smoothies! Our attitudes and energy are so much better, as we dont feel sliggish like the foods we were eating. My husband has already lost 1.5 inches from his neck alone which I am ecstatic to say has helped his snoring! My son is feeling amazing and is so proud he has lost 15.5 pounds (it is a competition with my husband and son) and no longer gets winded when playing. My mom is fitting into clothes she hasnt had out of her closet since she moved in with us and her knees are feeling Great! My skin feels amazing and the bags under my eyes are shrinking! We are all sleeping so much better and are much more productive. We were visiting some family this past week and I will admit it was hard to watch them eat and smell their food-it made us realize how much easier it is to take this journey together just for the support alone. We are still trying many of the smoothie recipes in the back of the book to find favorites, and every five days our dining room table assembly line takes over as we pre-pack all of the bags for our freezer-but we are making it work and it is so much easier to plan meals out! I am so Proud of my Family for finding Healthier Therapy with food and I cant wait for all that is still to come! Wow! Isnt that Simply Wonderful? GS Family pour that love out for The Worland Family! I will be watching to see their continued Transformations.👀👀 #TeamWorkMakesTheDreamWork! #GreenSmoothieFamilies!
