Today I am grateful for this KICK ASS comment from Eddie Rey that graced the pages of LGBT Weeklys Facebook page on July 27th. The comment was in response to a post attacking Carl. A post that LGBT Weekly paid to promote on Facebook to ensure thousands of individuals would see yet another misleading article complete with hate filled reader comments including this doozy Am the only one creeped out by Carl DeMaio being around children. Heres Eddies comment: The amount of time some people waste hating other people, in particular Carl Demaio cracks me up. 75% the time I dont read the articles and instead skip to the comments for a comedy break. They hate him so much, that they love to read everything written about him so they can rant about it. They rant about him and turned their backs when he marched. And boy were they proud of it. Then they are ranting about him when he didnt march. A boy they are proud of that too. Carl Attends The Stonewall Rally. Carl Attends Every LGBT Gala Fundraiser. Carl First To Donate $5000 Towards Hillcrest Pride Flag I guess those headlines dont sell. I just dont get it. To me its borderline funny yet sad. How can anyone spend so much of their own time hating someone? It almost seems as if its ALWAYS the same people coming out with negativity for both Peters and Demaio. Some of the comments almost crack me up as much as the people that took over Kurts Facebook page devoted to hating Carl at the parade and now trying to raise money to start a new non-biased LGBT news source. But wait for it... the kicker: I moved here in 2010 in the days after GLTs last issue. And the many of the same people - including some trying to bring it back now - are still vomiting negativity and have been through both of Carls campaigns nearly FOUR YEARS LATER. I just dont get it.
