Today, I am so grateful for neighbors, friends and family. I went out to gather the mail. Stupid cat got out. Hollering at him that I wasnt very good at getting up the front steps, I went after him. I didnt make it up the first step. I fell on my butt and bounced my head on the concrete. I rolled over, clutching my head and hollering loud enough for the neighbors to hear. Tammy and Fred came out, helped me into the house, called Joe. (Yes, Lynn Moddejonge, well call you first next time. Heres hoping there is no next time.) Joe races home. Karen Kessler Corey brings The Girl home and we recreate the scene in which she talks to me about seeing a doctor. Lucy Parker Watkins calls, as is her daily habit. I tell her I fell. She yells at me to go SEE A DOCTOR! (Bina asks if she is my older sister. No, shes my little sister with a big mouth.) Upset, probably scared and definitely hurting, Joe and I go to the Swedish Drive-Thru ER. A CT scan, X-ray (the tech remembered me from my visit in March) and 2 hrs later, I an discharged with a bruised coccyx and mild concussion. Thank you for reading this far. Please send healing to my butt (again) and to my dizzy head. Again, thank you Joe, Karen and Lucy. And healing French fries and felafel.
