Today I am thankful for : 1. A loving husband that woke up with me in the night last night when I was sick, gave me medicine, & then lay at my feet until he was certain that I was going to be ok. Guys, take note because your wives constantly are attending to your needs & those of your children. Women are normally givers rather than takers. Giving through service & caring for others has always been how I have shown love rather than receive it. It has taken years for me to allow Matt to care for me when I am down. I guarantee your wives will see you in a whole new light once you have lovingly reciprocated the care that she provides for your family. 2. My husband’s office at the pharmacy where my child spent his morning quietly studying while I was still at home sick. I know not many jobs afford that, & it makes me all the more grateful. I am thankful for a schedule that can allow our school hours to be moved around as needed. 3. My illness that landed me right back in bed on my back. It wasn’t part of MY plan for the day, but it WAS God’s. MY plans included finishing early since Avery had a test in history & science today so that I would be free to go to the spa & get my nails done. Ah, me time… GOD’S plan was for me to be still & study extra in His word. After I finished my usual morning devotion, the Spirit whispered that I needed to read more in my Beth Moore book on King David-something that I would’ve set aside until I was finished with everything else I haven’t read (like the last 10 issues of Traditional Home, Southern Living, At Home in Arkansas, & Good Housekeeping..) What a blessing obedience was! I have gleaned more from that book lately from anything else I have read. I read exactly what my heart & mind needed. The more I immerse myself in God’s word & studies, the more I crave.
