Today I am thankful for all of the people who have assisted my neighbors. The first responders, police and firemen and EMTs, to the dispatchers at TAZCOM to linemen who work for AMEREN Cilco. There were other police agencies, etc who have come in from out of our area to be of assistance to get our community back to some sense of normalcy. This is what Community is...one city helping another and citizens helping one another. I am proud to be a Pekinite. We are standing strong in a big part due to their aid and God forbid when a disaster strikes in another community close to us we will remember they were here for us and return the favor.
