Today I am truly fearful. I am nauseated and saddened by the thought that we have succumbed to terror. Shaken is my faith in my fellow Americans’ resolve to hold fast to the principals that made us great. I am afraid that this incident has shown a light on our weak resolve for all of our enemies to see. I have always believed in an America that would not relent, that would not cower in the face of oppressors, that valued freedom over safety. Today I wonder where that America has gone. I wonder if we have had it too easy too long and have grown to value comfort and safety at the expense of liberty. We are losing this fight! We are losing this fight because we do not possess the courage of our convictions. We are losing this fight because we are not willing to fight for the principals that make us a free nation. We are losing this fight because one percent of us go to war while the majority goes to the mall or watches realty shows (Panem et circenses). We are losing this fight because we pay more attention to divisive gossip than the wolves at our door. (Have we forgotten the truth of what happens to a divided nation?) Ask yourself what would happen if the cyber-attack was not aimed at a private entertainment corporation, but rather at our power infrastructure. What would happen if major metropolitan areas were denied electricity for a week, a month, several months? Our enemies are growing stronger and bolder. We need to wake up. We are losing this fight!
