Today I crossed the Green line, and went behind the Separation - TopicsExpress

Today I crossed the Green line, and went behind the Separation Wall to where Palestinians and Israeli settlers live with the NGO group @Breaking The Silence. The group was created by Israeli soldiers who served the IDF and want to show the actually reality. My guide, Avichai served between 2001 to 2004 (in the height of the second intifada) inside Hebron. Frigging eye opening. From what Ive seen and heard its horrid and extremely sad the state of things. The living conditions of the Palestinians are appalling - behind cages or heavy wire frame because the settlers use scare tactics and throw stones at their windows. Aside from hearing from a man with the Youth against settlements and our guide, a random Israeli settler woman with her kid showed up and passed out their version of Breaking the silence book. While we sat and listened to informations, I heard protests then machine gun fire then explosives in the H1 section (across the valley) - this is their daily life as the guy said when we looked startled. My thought... the Israeli government is like a step parent. The Israeli settlers are a bunch of spoiled kids who were told not to go and live in Hebron or other locations. They did anyways so the government send hundreds of soldiers and create borders to protect said spoiled brats. One doctor went and shot 29 Muslims injuring dozens while they were praying inside the muslim area of the Tomb of the Patriarch and he wasnt prosecuted and some settlers became his disciples. The Palestinians are like the step children who keeps getting pushed and shoved and kicked. Even when there is surveillance footage of the settlers harassing and abusing the Palestinians, the evidence are ignored. God forbid they actually do something its escalated and amplified by the settlers. There is loads of propaganda posted up in the empty streets of Hebron H2 area. First its empty cuz they cleared it out to make it safe for the settlers. Then they print billboards and paint over their own graffiti to make good PR. Its soooo mind bending and mind blowing. Israel - Just realize the Palestinians are human beings as well for a start.
