Today I experienced one of those once in a lifetime, change your life forever events- a woman whom I admire and loved dearly passed from this earth today at 5:15 am- my mother in law, Margaret Bullard - over the past 24 hours, she rallied from being unresponsive to several hours of sharing and even some laughter- I was able to bring her some comfort during her transition and reflected on the special things she made me feel and did for me over the years- she was the only person to make me smiley face pancakes- I remember how special I felt over that one little loving action. I thank God that I was there when she drew her last breath. What a gift that was for me. I want to thank James Bullard for all the heart breaking decisions he had to make in regards to his parents care- very difficult and painful for him because he loved them so much and never wanted them to be unhappy. But as we all know, sometimes circumstances make it impossible for our older parents to remain at home because of special care needs and even though we know they are better off where they get the help they need- they often vent their unhappiness and it makes us feel like we have failed them and have caused their suffering- we all make decisions on happiness- I can choose to be happy in whatever circumstance I find myself or I can blame others for my unhappiness and not look for the good in where I am at- Jim- you did the best for your parents and if they were unhappy- it was their choice to be so- I am praying for your peace of mind in this situation.
