Today I had a very special meeting with a Boreal Owl (Pärluggla in Swedish). He flew up to me as I entered a thicket of Spruce forest and landed in a tree just five meters away. Then he flew to a tree just one meter from me. He was sitting there looking at me with his big eyes and rolling with his head. Then he flew back to the other tree to keep eating on a small animal he must have caught earlier. He was so high up that I could only see the intestines of the animal hanging out beside the branch he was on. Then he flew back to me again, from tree to tree around me in a circle. He kept looking at me very curiously. I was shadowing his movements and soon found myself in a state of oneness with all around me. Eventually he flew off, after having been with me for around half an hour I would say (I lost track of time). I felt very grateful for this powerful encounter. A part of me wishes I had brought my camera along, so I could have filmed it all, to share it with others. At the same time, maybe he wouldnt have shown up then? And the camera can also be in the way of these kind of direct connections I find...
