Some times the best trips are right at home...this qualifies for a stay-cation. It is a museum founded by Wylene Burch that highlights the contributions and accomplishments of African-American in Howard County Maryland. Of note is the rare book collection, some more than 100 years old. Also seeing the many common household items invented by Blacks: peanut butter, egg beater, iron and ironing board,farm tools, wrenches, telephone etc. If you are in Maryland I recommend stopping by 5434 Vantage Point Rd. Columbia, MD. Also Ms. Burch does a guided tour all this for only $4.
