Today I had the privileged to serve as the Deacon of the Funeral - TopicsExpress

Today I had the privileged to serve as the Deacon of the Funeral Divine Liturgy for the repose of a saintly beloved priest of our diocese who spent his many years of priesthood (68 yrs) preaching the Gospel, taking care of the people in his parishes and loving them into Gods great mercy. I was so very moved in my heart at the very best funeral that I have been a part of in my 58 years of life. The Music Ministry was great, the altar servers were wonderful the Presider, Fr Sean Di Maria was awesome as was the priest who gave the homily, our own pastor, Fr. Dennis J.J. Mancuso. There were many priests present. They all came for the love they had for their brother priest and friend, some of the elder priests drove long distances through very bad weather conditions. Such love will not go unnoticed by me. I commend them all for their great serve to God and his people. There was also present another deacon, one I had not seen since I studied in seminary, Deacon Frank Pasquale. It was good to see him again after all these years. While I served as Deacon of the Word he served as Deacon of the Altar. The whole event was memorable. Rev. Fr. Francis Jann, we gave him a great sending off and burial. May his memory be eternal. Father gave us a parting this life gift too, he paid for the caterers to put on a feast fit for Royalty. Please remember the soul of Fr. Jann in your prayers before the Lord Jesus. I believe he is with the Lord now in that heavenly Divine Liturgy, but our prayers are never wasted they go to help another who as no one to pray for them.
