Today I have decided to start my own Facebook Format of “Shout out Sunday”. Occasionally I will recognize individuals whom I believe deserve to be highlighted (for whatever reason seems important to me). I have always admired people who have had the courage to pursue a dream, or develop a talent, or to follow a personal passion. To re-invent themselves so to speak… A case in point would be that John McBride, aka Bird, Jack and a few other names. John has been among other things a Catholic school teacher, and a long time Recreation Director for The City of Philadelphia. Over the years John has honed his voice/speaking skills by acting as a Master of Ceremonies at various City of Philadelphia sponsored events, as well as an announcer and play-by-play talent. A while ago John “took the plunge” and ventured into the world of Voice Over / Video Talent. He honed his abilities, built a home studio, and eventually created his own company “Ottovox Studio” (ask John he loves to tell you where the name came from…). John is now enjoying commercial success with paying gigs as an announcer, and narrator of audio books (available at Amazon). So today’s “Sunday Shoutout” goes to John McBride, who heeded the advice of Yogi Berra in that, “when he came to a fork in the road, he took it”… Friends of John, please share this post so that more who know him may view it.
