Today I heard a Rabbi tell a story that really made an impression on me. He said a teenage girl approached him one day and asked him why God spoke more to people in the past than he does to people today. The Rabbi explained to the girl that God speaks the same to people today as he did in ancient times...its just that our minds and worlds are more cluttered today and we have a harder time hearing God. He ask the girl to imagine that Moses was alive today and speeding down the freeway in his SUV while texting on his cell phone and worrying about all the stressors in his life. His question to the girl to emphasis the point ....do you think Moses would notice the burning bush off to the side of the road?
