Today, I joined my colleagues to introduce a bill to protect First Amendment rights of 501(c)(4) nonprofit organizations. Our bill, The Stop Targeting of Political Beliefs by The IRS Act of 2014, is in response to the targeting of conservative groups by the IRS last year. Discrimination against these groups by government officials is not only a violation of our Constitution, but also contrary to the foundation on which our nation was built.
