Today, I let someone cut in front of me in line at the grocery, because she had a crying baby and two children in tow. Then I looked at what she had in her cart. Organic food. Fresh from the farm milk (its pasteurized, but it comes in bottles that look like old fashioned bottles). Organic pretzels or some such nonsense. And her children looked malnourished, not in the third world sense, but in the modern wealthy American sense. I almost changed my mind. I wanted to ask her if she vaccinated her children. Id invent some lame excuse like Im immunocompromised. But I didnt. Am I judgemental to look at her as being a crunchy mom? Of course, we have strongly pro-vaccine mothers here who would be very crunchy. Im glad I contained myself. But really, her kids needed some protein.
