Today I lost one of my very best friends in Inez, Sherman Preece. Sherman was born with Downs Syndrome. He was one of the single most precious people I have ever known. I had the privilege of baptizing him when he was in his early 40s. I affectionately referred to him as my Associate Pastor, Deputy Sheriff and the Greenhouse Boss. Jean and the boys loved him deeply. All of our lives were made so much better by Sherman. He had a great sense of humor and gave the absolute best hugs. What a massive stroke did here on earth simply liberated Sherman for Heaven. There he wont be more like us, we will be more like him. I love you, Sherman and will see you soon.
