Today I ran in the 11th Annual Liz Hurley Ribbon Run 5k and it was - TopicsExpress

Today I ran in the 11th Annual Liz Hurley Ribbon Run 5k and it was a beautiful day for a run that the proceeds go for a great cause. Last year in this race I had a time of 20:33 net and 20:34 gun and that put me in 48th place overall out of over 5,000 finishers and 4th place in my age group out of 130 finishers, I was 10 seconds from placing in the awards for my age group! Today I had a time of 20:29 net and 20:30 gun and that put me in 54th place overall out of over 5,000 finishers and 4th in my age group once again and today I was 5 seconds from placing in the awards in my age group! This year they had a record amount of individuals that registered for this run, I think they said 6,650!! I am very satisfied with my time because I have not been able to train much at all with my leg injury. When you go to Huntsville and run in races you have to go in with the mindset that you are going to have to be under 20:00 in my age group to place in the top 3, so when my leg recovers I will just have to train a little harder :) . Rodney Brownfield, Donna Brownfield Lovvorn, and Elaine Brownfield Lambert as you can tell by one of the pictures I ran in memory of your mother Louise Brownfield today. I dedicated this race today to her and was hoping to PR and get under 20:00 to place in the top 3 in my age group so I could dedicate the award to her. Even though that did not happen I still feel good about getting to dedicate my run in her memory!! I have not ever told anyone this but I have developed an ability to block bad things out of my memory (I do not know if that is a good or a bad ability) and death is being one of those things but today was bitter sweet, I got to thinking about your mother and all the good memories I have of her but then I got to realizing how much I miss her! I know you guys miss her more than I do but I pray God’s comforting power to you guys when you think of her!! I love crossing the finish line in these races but I will be glad when the day comes that I get to cross that MAIN finish line and get to see the loved ones that have been taken from us from this disease called cancer!!! I hope everyone has a GREAT weekend and hold your family tight and let ALL of them know that you love them! I love ALL of my FB friends and family!!
