Today I thought I would break the silence and share on a really personal matter that on hind sight, I really should have made it public as it testifies of the wonderful MIRACLE WORKING POWER OF JEHOVAH GOD. Over the last month, so many strangers have come up to me and said they enjoyed my 1st song Bout Hey Sweet at the POC Semifinals but wondered why I didnt do/have a stronger song for the 2nd half (Never Too Young). I made the dicision in September last year that I would sing Never Too Young as a tribute to my daughter, Faith, who nearly died August 11th, 2013. My daughter, who is never sick or having any kind of problems, OUT OF THE BLUE, had a seizure on that morning. She never had one before. We didnt know it at the time because she was just staring off into space for a few seconds but she, as Bajans say, does wake up foolish. She had another while at church and my wife, a trained Special Educator, realized. After prayer, we decided to take her to the doctor. While, in the van she had a massive seizure (body shaking et al). Long and short of it is that my 12 year old went BLIND and PARALYZED from her waist down. She spent 14 days on PICU with tubes in her nose, head, under her arms, stomach, wrists and all other places. Her blood pressure was 276/176....YES, you read correctly. She had 2 CAT scans and about 46 blood tests. Doctors were on SKYPE conferences with specialists around the world because they had no answers. Then the dreadful words came.......Your daughter may never see or walk again. Truth be told, I played the bold daddy part for a few minutes, then I asked to be excused and I went down to the end of the hospital corridor and bawled and bawled and bawled. After much tears, sleepless nights, prayer from my family, few close friends, church family of Kingdom Culture international and Apostles Bernhard and Destiny Cadogan, one day MIRACULOUSLY her sight returned and paralysis disappeared. The doctors still do not know what happened or what caused it but because of the healing power of GOD, my daughter is fully recovered and in good health......So now you know why I, Billboard Murrell HAD TO sing of the glory of my AWESOME GOD. I care nothing about a crown...I sing with passion and to deliver a message of HOPE! To all you calypsonians out there...your pen can be used for so much good. Why degrade yourself into baseless, meaningless performers seeking a prize that most will never win? We are NEVER TOO YOUNG to die, so make good choices that will please God because we all need HIM.
