Today I thought was the day. Our Last Chance folks left the house - TopicsExpress

Today I thought was the day. Our Last Chance folks left the house with one dog still in danger. No calls. No interest. When they arrived at animal control, there was no one waiting for SugarBear. As they processed Amber, and Freckles, and Gypsy, the phones never rang...Facebook was silent. 3pm was the deadline. It was now 3:30. Process Mickey and Tux and Sarge...now its 3:45...phones are silent...Facebook is quiet...it seems this will be our goodbye to SugarBear. It breaks everyones hearts. Everyone associated with the program that puts their heart, souls, and lives into saving these animals could feel the change. We were leaving one behind. We had no room at any of our fosters. Our pleas from the week for folks to sign up as fosters fell on deaf ears. All area rescues and humane societies were full. We were leaving one behind. I dont know if you can understand the pain and the heartbreak felt by each person there. This is a dog each had silently promised to find a home for. A dog they had played with. A dog they had named and fought for for 48 long, hard hours. SugarBear was going to be put down. UNTIL an ARF foster, already over-burdened with rescued animals, stepped forward. God had waited...God had watched. Now God was touching a heart and saving this, his creation. It is NOT about a 100% record. It is NOT about bragging rights. Each of these dogs are from different backgrounds, different stories, and each is a LIVING THING....a child of God and deserving of life just as much as we are. I want to thank each of you that helped...thank you for the cares and shares, the likes, the networking, the tagging and the posting. Yall are just as much a part of this program as we are. I also want to thank Lona and Sharon, who put their hearts and emotions to the test every week to save these abandoned creatures. It is hard, emotionally draining, thankless work. From being called at 1 am to receiving messages being called killers and liars, these two women put up with MORE than they should have to trying to save lives. If anyone doubts their commitment, I challenge them to do what they do for just 1 week. I also want to thank God. Everything is in HIS time, but sometimes, I wish he would hurry it up a little....lol...but without his strength, guidance, and inspiration, none of this would be possible. Love Yall.
