Today I want to talk about three people found in the New Testament. The first is the woman with the issue of blood. She had spent all the money she had on physicians. The Bible says when she heard of Jesus, she pressed her way through the crowd, touched the hem of His garment, and was made whole. Jesus said of her, “Woman, your faith has made you whole.” This woman was healed because of her simple faith in the Lord Jesus. Jesus and the disciples were on their way to Jairus’ house because Jairus had come to Jesus about his daughter who was very sick and dying. However, by the time the woman healed of the issue of blood had finished giving her testimony news came to Jesus that Jairus’ daughter had died. Jesus responded by telling Jairus, “Don’t fear, only believe. All things are possible.” Jairus was looking at the circumstances and didn’t even think Jesus needed to come to the house because his daughter had already died; he had stopped believing. Yet Jesus exhorted him, “Only believe.” Then there was the Roman centurion whose servant had been sick who said to Jesus, “I simply look around me and see how your faith operates. When You speak to sickness and disease it has to go, just as I am spoken to those above me and I obey, and I speak to those below me and they obey.” We’re not told how long this servant had been sick, but Jesus said, “I have not seen such great faith, no not even in Israel.” Jesus commended this man for his great faith. Each of these three individuals exercised simple faith to receive what they needed. What are you believing for from God today? Do you have simple faith in God today? If you do, things are going to turn around!
