Today I want to thank the Lord for the journey He has allowed me - TopicsExpress

Today I want to thank the Lord for the journey He has allowed me to endure. Some days...Most days, I get discouraged that I cant do more to help Gods mental Health Army to advance as quick as my heart wants. I know all the right answers. ..it Is in Gods timing and I truly believe that. I become frustrated and discouraged because others cant understand the pain...and I shouldnt expect them to. It is only by living with mental illness myself and watching love ones try to navigate the rough road before them...usually with little understanding from others. It is of no fault of anyone. But there are things that can actively be done. Educate yourself, smile at someone who looks discouraged, ask how you can help them. I truly believe (as Kay Warren) said in her book DANGEROUS SURRENDER when God allows us to be exposed to the pain ( in my case mental illness, suicide, and watching a child navigate the same illness that took his brothers life) I have been GLORIOUSLY RUINED. I can never go back...God continues to show me the pain of others enduring mental illness. God breaks my heart for what breaks His. Some days it seems too much to handle, until I remember I dont have to...God is carrying and directing me. If you , a love one , or a friend are struggling with mental illness there is hope! I am always blessed to help educate, give resources, pray with, or offer support from our Family Grace Group thanks to MENTAL HEALTH GRACE ALLIANCE. Lord give me the strength to overcome my discouragement so i can recruit warriors and warriorrettes for YOUR cause. I know you are mighty and have unimaginable plans! Join me! Julie Brooks R.N. Gloriously Ruined...lifetime member of Gods mental health Army
