So out of default I will be representing the USA in the Freedive Panglao Depth Challenge as I am the only American here. Today I announced that my depth for the first day of competition will be 37 meters, which is kinda boring seeing as how I did 43 meters in training and wanted to go deeper. The truth is that I am continuously humbled by the sport of freediving and have found that there are things that I didnt know I didnt know, being able to nail the mouthfill with frenzel every time being the main one. So I have chosen a safe depth that I feel comfortable with for the comp, and afterwards I will get busy training with Stefan Randig, & perfect this technique. Proper technique is key for safe diving, & Im just stoked I get to be around such an amazing group of people and share in such a cool experience. For me Ive realized that the main focus is not really on the competition, but the training & education surrounding it. Im surly on my way to becoming a strong freediver despite my moments of utter frustration.
