Today Jacqui and I attended a very special service in honor of Ana Grace, who was murdered 2 years ago today at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Anas dad Jimmy played an incredible tribute to her on his saxophone. I tried to discreetly record it on my phone, which I am posting here. Anas mom Nelba Márquez-Greene then got up there and delivered a beautiful speech that showed how deep her pain is, and how ingrained her faith in God, Jesus, and heaven are. Nelba made a great point: no more mothers should have to feel the pain she and other mothers endure when their children are stolen from them due to unnecessary, preventable, pointless violence. But even before any politicians can pass needed legislation, it is up to each of US to be led by our hearts, by love. The laws etc will follow.
