Today Legacy announced the appointment of General David Hurley, Chief of Defence Force as our first national Patron since Legacy was founded 90 years ago. Apart from being a great leader and wondeful human being, his appointment acts as a solid endorsement of our work not only done in the past but as well as the much needed work yet to be done. As Australia confronts the challenges of modern conflict, the organisation’s role in the community is as real now as it ever has been. While caring for families left behind has, and always will be Legacy’s proud tradition, the reality of modern warfare brings with it new challenges. We are delighted to have General Hurley as our Patron.
