Today, March 11, marks one year since WorldHouse Caribbean, Green VI and several local retailers partnered to voluntarily reduce plastic shopping bags in the BVI. Its been a challenging journey so far, and the work continues. Thanks to awesome people like you, our streets and waters are cleaner, our air is a little fresher, our incinerator is less toxic, and over 15,000 FREE REUSABLE BAGS have been distributed. Despite early critics and creatively crafted headlines, no one has been driven into poverty by 15 cents and there have been no fatal incidents of Plastic Bag Withdrawal Syndrome (PBWS) reported. We applaud and thank you for joining the movement and keeping our house beautiful! Thank you British Virgin Islands! Onward!
