Of course, Mormons answer Yes! most emphatically, but many non-Mormons insist that the answer is no, just as emphatically. They often cite the non-traditional beliefs of Mormons, which they proclaim are not Christian beliefs, including the belief in prophets and apostles. However, the angel, who visited St. John, as recorded in Revelation chapter 19, verse 10, explained that the testimony of Jesus, which is the essence of Christianity, is the spirit of prophecy, and those who have it are the servants of God. They are prophets of the God of Israel and apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is founded upon servants of God who have the testimony of Jesus. Nevertheless, the Christian world has rejected their testimony, claiming that it is false. At the same time, however, after almost two hundred years, many of them are now beginning to follow Christian leaders, who profess to be prophets and apostles of God, possessing the gifts and power of the Holy Spirit. Today, we examine both claims, comparing and contrasting the testimonies of the LDS prophets and apostles, with the testimonies of the non-LDS leaders, who claim to be prophets and apostles.
