Today, Shadow, my cat, passed away peacefully at home. My family rescued him from a shelter exactly thirteen years ago today, and he was a surprise for me for Christmas. He was my friend for a long time, and even though he was a pain in the butt and liked to punish the family when we left on vacations by pooping in our rooms, he was a wonderful, loving cat. Every time I would come home from college he would greet me at the top of the stairs and would often not leave my lap when I watched television or was on the computer. Though I am extremely sad that he has passed on, I am happy that he was able to die in the comforts of home and he looked at ease. Ill miss you Shadow, you were with me through it all. Rest easy, Doe.
