Today, about an hour ago, my window clerk came to the back office - TopicsExpress

Today, about an hour ago, my window clerk came to the back office and said, theres a baby locked in a car!, I went to the parking lot and witnessed a grandmother trying to remain calm as her first grandchild was trapped in her running car. The air was on, but this new generation of smart cars turns off after 5 minutes. A good sameritan called the police. The fire department arrived first, they attempted to gain entry, with no luck and then the inevitable, the engine shut off. Within a matter of 3 minutes the smiling baby was a cranky baby and had began crying. I demanded they break the window because I promise you this was not about to go down the way the devil intended. This grandmother and her grandchild came into the post office and did their business. When she put the two month old in the car, before she strapped him in, she pressed the button to start the car so it would cool off and dropped the keys in her purse and laid the purse on the front seat. She finished getting him in and closed the door. When she got around to the other side of the car the doors had locked! They broke the window and I grabbed the baby and took him and half of the cities emergency responders into my office, yelled for someone to turn the AC down and removed the clothing from the baby. As I held him, he smiled and flirted (as much as a two month old could). EMS gave him a clean bill of health and right now I know for sure that I was suppose to be right there at that time, for that moment. The grandfather arrived and as he held the baby, he kept peeking around at me. God is great and greatly to be praised. Lord I thank you, you are worthy of all the glory!
