Today after going to MD for my post surgery check (bladder - TopicsExpress

Today after going to MD for my post surgery check (bladder prolapse) I gave him my list of things that were not part of a positive experience: 1 Giving the person who is putting you under your EKG that was borderline and asking her to explain any concerns and having her respond after looking at it for a minute-- Gosh I really dont know how to read these...but if your Dr didnt say anything you probably shouldnt worry.......great so now I am worried that they have these leads coming off me that are supposed to indicate how my heart is withstanding surgery-----and how will she know if anything is irregular (more reason to pray) 2. Having the nurse who just gave you pain medication say--now follow me to the bathroom to see if you can void,,,,,,,follow you----how will you know if I fall to the floor from being so dizzy from the medication?????? Nothing like safety protocol 3. Then having her pop her head into the bathroom repeating----did you go yet...hard enough with a strange person watching.. let alone after having a foley catheter in for 3 hours,,,being extremely sore in that area,,and having your legs up in stirrups for 2 hours---nothing is feeling normal on the lower half of my body. 4. NOT AT ALL reassuring to hear her shout out as she opens the new foley kit to reinsert--CAN someone get me gloves? I forgot to get them---and then a voice from the other side of the curtain says--theyre in the kit......so when I ask her how long it has been since she has done this--she admits--awhile I shout out NEXT...! 5. Discouraging to have the nurse call the next day to ask--are you STILL taking those pain meds.....Im tough--but there are limits.... There are more--but always know you can call me with medical questions--because TOO much goes on out there for those who dont have a medical degree to catch.... another reason I want to spread the word on battling disease and the truth the media and drug companies dont want you to find out about...more to come soon!!!
