Today and for the second time in my life I was asked the question : Fatma you`re a scientists how come you believe in God? My reply as it was before: When you know what you are made of, when you know how your brain works and controls who you are, when you look at a plant leaf and know how it makes the nutrients to store later in the seed then you will be certain that you are never an accident and nothing on Earth is present for no reason..... Life is never an accident! The first time i was asked this question was in Dundee Scotland, in the lab around 2 AM while running a 48 hours experiment. Tom my colleague told me he does not believe in God because he is a scientist. We both took a 10 minutes break and had a conversation over a cup of coffee. Since then I learned that an atheist is the one who rejects religious restrictions on the human freedom especially when it defines the pattern, shape and form of life. Recently I learned is that believing in God is not about religion as much as much as defining the power of life in us and how to use our freedom of choice; right or wrong, good or bad and the difference is the outcome on self and on others; positive or negative!
