Today, as I reflect on the man Martin Luther King Jr was, and what - TopicsExpress

Today, as I reflect on the man Martin Luther King Jr was, and what he stood for in America, I rejoice in Gods ability to put great men of good character in the right place at the right time. He was a man of God & peace who stood up for the oppressed. He was a man of courage who stood for the gospel of Jesus Christ and the fact that all men were created equal. Today I dont see black and white, but good and bad people who all need Jesus! Do you know the story of William Wilberforce, who fought the fight to abolish the British slave trade? The movie Amazing Grace tells the story of a courageous man whos passion and perseverance changed the world. Along the way, Wilberforce meets intense opposition from members of Parliament but his minister, John Newton, a reformed slave ship captain who penned the beloved hymn Amazing Grace, urges him to see the cause through. You will want to stand up and applaud at the end of this movie. God can do amazing works through His people if they will just follow His will and instruction. I am happy to live in a community where I see people by their character first and not by the color of their skin, as Martin Luther King dreamed about. Credit for this goes to our local churches & educators that teach love & peace. The dream lives in me and the people I influence in this world. I will let love and the goodness of God lead my life, which will result in His compassion showing through me and the people I come in contact with. I will not let the minority of those who live in darkness and hate over-come the efforts of these two good men in history, who I believe followed God and let the light of Jesus shine through their actions even more than their words (and these men had some great words). Long live the dream, let freedom & liberty forever Ring!
