Today begins our new feature, Patient of The Month. We have so many fascinating people that are part of our family of patients that we decided to highlight them so you can get to know them better, too. Have you ever wondered about the artist who created those beautiful paintings that adorn the walls in our dental office? Her name is Nancie King Mertz and she is a talented artist, long time patient and wonderful friend. An award winning Chicago painter, Nancie has work in corporate and private collections worldwide. She was twice named Artist of the Year by the Chicago Convention & Tourism Bureau, and her work is featured on Chicago-based television such as The Good Wife, Chicago FIre, Mind Games, Sirens, Crisis, Mob Doctor and Boss. Nancie began a framing business downstate which she transferred to Chicago in 1987. The framing business grew into a gallery where she & husband, Ron, offer Giclee prints of her work along with her originals and framing. Art De Triumph & Artful Framer Studios (NancieKingMertz) has won three prestigious awards in Chicago: Woman Entrepreneur of 1999, Smll Business of 2000, and Business Person of 2008. We are so very proud of all that she has contributed to our great city and to call her our friend. Please join us for the Opening Reception of Urban Views in the lobby of our office building, Olympia Centre, located at 737 North Michigan Ave. (enter off Chicago Ave. or through Nieman Marcus,) on Thursday, May 22 from 4 to 7pm.
