Today, day 1 of Wizard World San Antonio was pretty fun. Wouldve been more fun in a group, but thats not the point. I picked up a new game, (Munchkin Apocalypse), and actually got to see a couple friends that I only ever get to see at conventions. One of which was James Marsters, (yes, the one who played Spike in Buffy and Angel, among other rolls). I got to meet him up in Austin last year when I lead Emma, (who was dressed as a hell spawn of some sort), over to him on a leash, tied up, and presented her to him as a gift, (you know, because Spike killed demons and such). Followed by many of the other peeps from SSCOT, (the picture is on my facebook). He had a great time with it, and chatted with us for quite a while about Star Wars. I had seen him a while later, and he said that he had taken a break right after to call his wife and tell her about it. lol So when I went to see him today, because I hadnt gotten an autograph from him in Austin, I started by mentioning that I had met him in Austin. He instantly said, Yeah, you were the Jedi with the Sith group that brought me the demon girl... Jacob, right? Seeing my shocked confusion, he said, Thats still my best convention going experience that Ive ever had. I hope you treated that girl well, because I got the impression that she was a bit nervous. I responded with mentioning the bootprint shaped bruise on my lower back that I had for about a month and a half after the convention. lol We chatted for about twenty or so minutes, one of the things he talked a bit about was wanting to do a cosplay so he can walk around the conventions. lol He was complimenting my Jedi gettup from last year, and thought that I had hired a proffesional wardropbe person, from hollywood, to make it for me. When I had said that my mom made it in a day and a half he told me to give her a fist bump for him, because it was the kind of quality that he generally sees on set. lol Went back later in the day when I realized that I forgot to get a picture, because in the ones from Austin, Im kinda just creeping in the background looking over shoulders. In it hes throwing up a peace sign. I started to as well, and decided not to because it felt weird. He said, make a waddup face. So I emulated my id picture. lol He then proceeded to tell me about some really weird picture involving a mans beard that he saw online and thought I should emulate because I have a beard. lol Anyway, I uploaded the picture. I also got to see another friend, who shall remain nameless for now, and with his help get a really awesome gift for Scott, that Im thinking hes going to really like. So, Im looking forward to getting to give that to him.
