Today has been a quiet day. Chance slept all day. But guess who is wide eyed and awake now? Chance! Chance is now eating every 3 hours by feeding tube over a hour and a half time span. He took 35ml by bottle at 4pm and I now get to try giving him a bottle every 6 hours. He is still on 1 liter of oxygen at 100%. His respiratory rate is still high so his surgeon is putting him back on Lasix. Now that we are in the step down unit, his heart surgeon guides his total care with oversight from nurses practitioners. He has had some break through arrhythmias tonight, but I strongly believe that is because he got his one arrhythmia medication two and a half hours late. They will monitor it overnight. He also never got his bath today so he is supposed to get it tonight. At this point, we will see. Mommy is slightly frustrated tonight. The nurse case manager has been talking to me today about his care/support when her gets to go home. I will share more on that in the next few days.
