Today has been a very busy day. The Tennessee Baptist Convention - TopicsExpress

Today has been a very busy day. The Tennessee Baptist Convention sold their Brentwood building on the corner of Franklin Road and Maryland Way and have moved to the LifePoint Building on Old Hickory Blvd. Until last year when the cancer struck, I would drive 2 miles to work. If I was still working, I could drive/walk ½ mile to work. It is a very nice facility and I enjoyed seeing my co-workers and all the new stuff. Office space is smaller and cubicles are the norm. I miss working and being with the people. A very nice place to work. I spent more time there than I anticipated and was able to have lunch with the Baptist and Reflector group. They are a great bunch of friends – only 3 full-time and 1 part-time people in the office. Fifty years ago yesterday our long-time friend, Sharron Lyon, began serving on our church as Organist/Music Associate. To her surprise, her first boss, Bob Snead, placed flowers in our sanctuary to mark the occasion. This afternoon she brought over some roses from that beautiful arrangement for us to enjoy…and we are! Then Marilu came with dinner from The Picnic. Some people are great cooks and some people cook occasionally and when they don’t cook, they know where to pick up some yummy things. Marilu is in the second category and I had a wonderful meal. Mark was at deacon’s meeting and he’ll have his portion tomorrow. Tomorrow is my third infusion. We will still have the half dosage and trust that my side effects will be tolerable and minimal. Thank you for all the prayers you say on my behalf. I feel them and appreciate them. They help get me through the rough times. We have another commercial that we really like and we have used it at our house. Gieco Insurance has a camel (whose name is Caleb) that appears inside an office, of course on Wednesdays, walking around saying “Oh, no. Does anyone know what day it is? Come on, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, I know you know. It’s hump day!” Well, Mark has become Caleb. More than likely, he will wake me up tomorrow saying, “Oh, no. Does anyone know what day it is? It’s PUMP day!” (For this round of chemo, they send me home with a pump that I get to wear and enjoy for the next 46 hours.) We laugh about it and it helps lighten my day. I have started calling him Caleb and he even signed the card he got me for Mother’s Day with “C.” Somehow our names have evolved over the years. We started out Mark and Susie, then Fred and Thelma, M & S, Honey and Papa, Honey and Mark, and now Honey and Caleb. Fun names and times to help with the harder times and ease tensions. Thank you, Father, for a husband/caregiver who is sensitive to my needs and feelings and helps lighten the load. Joyful, joyful, we adore Thee, God of glory, Lord of love; Hearts unfold like flowers before Thee, opening to the sun above. Melt the clouds of sin and sadness; drive the dark of doubt away; Giver of immortal gladness, fill us with the light of day! I’m sending lots of hugs and love your way. Thank you, dear herd, for the prayers and support. The load is much lighter with your help. Honey and Caleb
