Today i went to an interview for a PRN(as needed fill in) job.When i put the addy in to the GPS,i realized that it was the 1st nursing home i ever worked at,in 1995(the name had changed,didnt recognize it).As i walked in the door,everything became surreal.When I worked there as an indentured servant for 4.25 hr trying to get my cna license,i had to borrow a car or beg for a ride.i often skipped lunch because i had no money.I slept on couches,and then at my new boyfriends parents house.I never saw my 1YOson.it was one of three jobs i had,i also worked at a bakery and a diner,sleeping bout 4 hours a day.The guy i was with frequently told me i was stupid and lazy, and though he never hit me i always thought he would at some point,as i bided my time to get out.If you had told me In 19 years, you will walk back in to this building with your RN/BSN, and immediately be offered a management position on the new telemetry unit being built. I would have laughed and laughed.My point? Never give up. Never.Only Haters afraid of your potential will try to talk you out of your dreams and improving your life.
