Today i will share a couple more cool memories from my young years growing up in Marin County California. One time when i was around 14 years old i was hiking on Big Rock Ridge in Novato Ca. heading towards Ships Mast (A large Sentinel Redwood Tree) when i came across a mated pair of Bobcats along the trail. One was sitting, the other standing. They both were looking directly at me intently and i just stopped for a moment to be so close to these beautiful cats out in nature. I remember feeling kind of honored to see them and for them to be so relaxed with me so close. I was no more than 25 from them. As i walked away they casually got up and disappeared back into the Redwoods. Another time while heading out past Lake Nicasio towards Pt Reyes i stopped along Putah Creek and caught a nice large Salmon with my bare hands ! Finally, a couple years before this around 1967 i went on a back pack trip for 90 miles through Yosemite. On one of those days while up at a very high elevation i stopped to take a nap leaning up against a tree. When i woke up a Badger was standing right in front of me just looking at me. That was amazing as well. Birds used to land on me. I could call them out of the trees mimicking their bird calls and they would land on me. It was a trip. I have always felt and experienced a very strong connection within nature. This reminds me to get back to having more of these moments because they are still here for me to enjoy. have a great day folks.
