Today in jail ministry: As I was preaching the gospel a man was in tears throughout the whole sermon. So I put Jesus on display even more earnestly than before. I told the men that those who come into Gods courtroom must come in with a lawyer, that divine lawyer Jesus Christ the righteous One. I begged the men to plead with God on the basis of His Son whom they themselves put to death. As Peter did, I charged those precious souls with the blood of Christ, I pointed to the wounds of Jesus for their only hope, and I reminded them that The Lord Jesus bid men to come to Him so that their weary souls might find rest. When the message was over, one man stayed behind and told me he needed Jesus, and that the whole time the word was being preached he felt chills. So I asked him if he understood the message, and he said yes. I asked him if he understood what Jesus meant when He said we must count the cost if we want to follow Him. I asked him if he understood that Jesus calls us to abandon all to follow him. Then I asked him if he understood that salvation is based on Gods mercy and His grace. I told him that none of us deserve heaven, rather, we deserve hell. I also asked him if he understood what happen at the cross. Finally, I proceeded to ask him if he would have Jesus as his Lord, for Jesus bids you to come I said. I asked him to read Rom. 10:9-10 and asked him if he believed that Scripture and he said he did. Then I watched this man plead with God fir his soul, and I asked The Lord to receive this man for His own Name’s sake, for He promised, “whosoever shall call upon the Name of The Loord will be saved.” God is still fetching souls from the deepest pits, He is still seeking to save the lost. Nevertheless, the fetching and seeking is done through His servants. So may The Lord stir the hearts of His people and may He draw the unrepentant to Himself.
