Today in the Tulsa World I pointed out how Sen. Inhofe has been consistently lying to Oklahomans about the testimony of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dempsey. But Im not the only one to point this out. The Washington Post has actually chronicled Inhofes lies and awarded him a Pinnochio Award for lying about it and called on Sen. Inhofe to apologize to Gen. Dempsey. According to Inhofes campaign manager, this apparently means the Post is also criticizing our military by pointing out Inhofes lies. Dempseys testimony regarding boots on the ground against ISIS. Inhofe said on national television that Gen. Dempsey supported boots on the ground when he actually was responding to a question about whether he would recommend we send a rescue team to help a fighter jet pilot if it were shot down. On the issue discussed regarding Inhofes bills and attendance one thing is very clear: he is ineffective. Appleton said Inhofe has been largely responsible for major legislation on defense, water resources and transportation, even though sponsorship was credited to subcommittee chairmen or others. In other words, Team Inhofe says he really is effective and hes an influencer, its just that other Senators are stealing his glory. Well, Mr. Appleton, if your boss wants credit for Oklahomas roads and bridges Im happy to give it to him as long as he also takes the blame. Oklahoma ranks near the bottom in the country with a D and D minus rating on our roads and bridges. I also want to say that I find it revealing that Sen. Inhofe needs to use his campaign manager as a spokesman instead of answering these questions himself. Hes running away from a debate and tasking his campaign manager to do his best to explain away objective lies his boss keeps telling about important matters of national security. #RetireInhofe #DebateMatt
