Today is #EqualPayDay, symbolizing how far into 2014 a woman must work in order to earn what a man made in 2013 alone. The reality is, on average, women make just 77 cents on the dollar compared with what men make. That disparity is even greater for women of color--for African-American women, its 69 cents and for Latinas its 58 cents. This is unacceptable. Today, the Senate is holding a vote on the #PaycheckFairness Act, which would update the 1963 Equal Pay Act so we can bring more transparency and accountability to employers to ensure we end pay discrimination. We have held votes on this bill before, but today, on Equal Pay Day, I hope Republicans will join us in standing up for women and their families. Will you add your voice?
