Today is Friday...!!...In the coming month...GH will be issuing Eurobonds to the tune of $1BN for purposes that have not been properly explained to the country as yet...!!...We must not forget...that the issuing of bonds though making available to us as a country money that on govt wants us to believe will ease our financial & expenditure pressures...is as well...& more importantly...an INSTRUMENT FOR THE CREATION OF DEBT...& thus under normal circumstances...should be spent on activities that should technically generate income for the repayment of this DEBT...@ a profit to the country...!!...The shrouding of this whole issue in usual govt secrecy...with no real info as to what will be sacrificed in order to service this debt...leaves discerning GH citizens with obvious concerns as to what the real motive behind this floatation is...!!...In a conversation sometime back...someone said to me...govt wants access to finance that it can use via its own discretion under the auspices of lose controls...!!...Hmmm...!!...We must watch carefully...but GH citizens must brace ourselves for a worst-case scenario...where we will have tough financial times ahead...!!...I for one will be watching the behaviour of the local currency carefully once we float...!!...Hmmm...!!
