Today is Pearl Harbor day. Two dates we should never forget. (12/7 and 9/11). There is another date few know about. (May 21, 1944). This is one of my saddest memories of of World War II. We were not allowed to mention this disaster and the gag order was not lifted until many years after the war. Two books have been written about this tragedy. The Westlock Story by William Johnson PhM2/c. Johnson is dead now and this book is hard to find. The most recent book by Gene Eric Salecher (The Second Pearl Harbor) now in book stores. I have both books autographed by the authors, because I was able to assist the author in gaining some of the information he needed for his book.
