Today is Supermoon (Day) and Guru Purnima where we offer highest - TopicsExpress

Today is Supermoon (Day) and Guru Purnima where we offer highest gratitude to our spiritual & academic guru. Gu means remover and ru means darkness (so only call someone a guru when they have the capacity to pull you out of the darkest place☝️not simply any Instagram or YouTube yoga instructor, and definitely NOT ME!) and Purnima means Full Moon. Pretty funny to think of it as its actually called the same in Malay (the word Guru and Bulan Purnama) yet they still unlawfully ban yoga for Malays. Anywayssss, in my practice and where I am (not just on the map but mostly in my life), my guru is definitely DAVID ROBSON. A being so wise yet so humble, can be very serious yet painfully funny at the same time, beyond strong yet so open physically and in his heart.. Quoting my other big yoga guru The right quality of a great teacher will attract good quality student. It could be just my pure luck or possibly my karma and fate to that brought me to David Robson. I dont have a physical person I can call my #Ashtanga teacher in Malaysia and I am not proud that I still havent been to Mysore India so I cant really call Sharath my Guruji so I know within, and with this Ashtanga Assisting School calling, if he would have me and my service, David Robson IS my teacher. During the Assisting School trainings with David, weve been practicing and perfecting our SQUISHES (only if you practice #ashtangamysore, youd know how a good squish saves your back and invigorates your practice) but when it comes to real practice in Mysore room at @ashtangayogato, I could almost shit in my pants when Im nearest and most accessible when it comes to my teacher, the Ashtanga rockstar, the man who can float - THE David Robsons turn to be squished after his backbending. I hope he doesnt mind I silently recorded my squish shift (so I could learn and improve..) but the entire squish was almost 4 minutes - I even threw head, neck and shoulders LABOR massage that Ive acquired during my Prenatal Yoga, HypnoBirthing and midwifery training. Vande gurunam caranaravide, I bow in gratitude and humility to the lotus feet of my guru, David Robson. Thank you for having me. P.S Uh oh, also check out my uber cool ASSISTING SCHOOL AYCT swag shirt that we have to wear during assisting in the Ashtanga Yoga Centre of Toronto Mysore shala. David said, we should feel lucky that he made us wear a shirt and not a short or else it will read ASSisting School.. Told you he is verrrry funny!
