Today is World AIDS Day On this day I would like to point out how BRAVE my best friend Kelly Gluckman is. On October 25th 2010 Kelly was diagnosed HIV positive. Instead of allowing the virus to defeat her she began her journey to defeat the virus. She in all her bravery told the world, hey Im Kelly Gluckman and I am HIV positive. Since then she has been interviewed for magazine articles, blogs, tv shows and documentaries. She tells her story publicly so that the world can stop classifying HIV as a gay male virus. She is so good at telling her story that she was invited by Hopes Voice to speak to college students around the country to educate them. She has also been a guest on the Dr. Drew Pod Cast where she answered questions and faced stigma head on. She even got me involved by having me be a part of her CDC Lets Stop HIV together campaign where her and I had photos, youtube videos and a short commercial posted of us all over the nation telling the U.S. that stigma is a waste of time and every HIV positive person has at least one HIV negative person who loves them unconditionally and sees more than HIV (seriously I forget she is positive like all the time... just ask her). Lets not forget that MTV show Im Positive where she told her story to many young people and they filmed us working on our HIV documentary (a documentary that she inspired). And now this... This past year she has been involved with the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation and she is in the video posted here... her short part gives me chills. Please take a moment to view it and take a second to post a comment on this post and tell Kelly how brave she is! And Kelly... I dont know exactly how hard it is to be as brave as you have been, but I have been by your side for most of it and I know for a fact I could never be as strong as you. Words can not describe how proud I am of you. You are making a difference and today is the day I get to remind you how impactful you are being. Keep up your hard work. I Love you and I will be by your side every step of the way.
