Today is a day that most of us, if not all of us, will never - TopicsExpress

Today is a day that most of us, if not all of us, will never forget. The emotions that broke our hearts and fired our blood. But, someday we will no longer be here. What will our children know of this day? What have they learned from us. We must not let them learn from the cold, factual history books that they read in school. We must not let them write a paper from the information they get on Wikipedia. We must share with them from our hearts about that day 12 years ago. Just as our parents taught us about the shooting of JFK, and our grandparents about the bombing of Pearl Harbor. They must learn about the horror we felt as we saw the planes crash into the World Trade Centers. The fear and uncertainty as the day unfolded and the knowledge of what happened to our fellow Americans was blazoned across our t.v. screens. We must share with them the anger of knowing that someone would dare attack innocent people. And, we must share with them the pride and sadness we felt when we heard about flight 93. They must know that the responsibility of protecting our freedom will someday fall to them. And, they must be reminded that the borders of this great country called America are not impregnable. They will someday take up the duty of protecting what we have. They must be prepared to do so.
