Today is a holiday for the offices of Govt. of Assam for Janma Jayanti of Subhash Ch. Bose.But no holiday has been declared by the Govt. of India for the purpose. Subhash Ch. Bose was a warrior and fought against the Britishers in India for independence of India. Even, he sought active help from other countries to fought against Britishers.On the whole , he is a freedom fighter. Subhash Ch. Bose was born at Katak in 1897 and in that sense, he is a freedom fighter of Orissa/ Bengal and no other relation with the people of Assam. Today is also a holiday in West Bengal for the said purpose. Assam has many freedom fighters and even,many such freedom fighters were hanged by the Britishers and they scarified their valuable lives for the cause of independence They are- Chahid Maniram Dewan, Chahid Kushal Kowar,Chahid Kanklata, Chahid Dutiram Barua, Chahid Bahadur Gaonburah, Chahid Seikh Formud Ali etc etc. But, for their respect, no holidays have been declared till date by the Govt. of Assam . Now, the question is (1) How far it is justified for declaration of a holiday in offices of Govt. of Assam today ? (2) Is it not the purpose of narrow so called politics ?? For this kind of behavior, a famous Assamese Poet told-- Swadeshi axabhya ghini hay xabhya, pitaa- putrar nai parichay........
